About Us

Alpha Zeta Sigma was founded in the Marvel City of Bessemer, Alabama January 25, 1941! We are a vibrant and dynamic community of women united by our shared values of love for the betterment and empowerment of the black community and a deep commitment to sisterhood. The foundation of who we are is established on the principles of scholarship, service, and sisterhood. Our sorority has been a beacon of empowerment and support for multiple generations of exceptional women. The reflection of the multiple generations can be seen through our RHOsebud Club, which mentors girls ages 5-12; the RHOer Club, which mentors girls ages 13-18; and our Philos, which is a group of supporting women from the age of 19 and up that have not obtained a four-year degree.
